How we handle personal information on this website, in plain English.
Last updated: 2 October 2026
This website is run by Ludlow Race Club Limited, trading as Ludlow Racecourse (company number 00508758, registered in England). Our registered office is Ludlow Racecourse, Bromfield, Ludlow, Shropshire SY8 2BT.
We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any question about it, or want to use any of the rights set out below, contact us at [email protected], on 01584 856 221, or by post at the address above.
This policy covers this website, ludlowracecourse.co.uk, and the enquiries you send us from it. Raceday tickets bought online are sold through our ticketing provider, Future Ticketing, whose shop appears on our Book Tickets page; gift vouchers are sold through Booked.it. Your details and payment are entered on their systems and handled under their own privacy policies, which you can read when you book; they pass us the booking details we need to look after you on the day.
If you email or telephone us, we receive whatever you choose to tell us: usually your name, your email address or telephone number, and the details of your enquiry or event. We use it to reply to you, to arrange your booking or event, and to keep a record of what was agreed.
Our lawful basis is that this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract with you, or to perform that contract, and otherwise our legitimate interest in answering the people who get in touch with us.
We keep simple, first-party statistics about how the site is used: the pages viewed, the site that referred you, the type of device and browser, screen size, language and time zone, how long a page was open, and an approximate location (town or region) worked out from your internet address. We use these to understand which pages are useful and to keep the site working well.
These statistics are not used to identify you. They do not use cookies, and nothing is stored on your device. Visits are grouped using a code that changes every day, so a visitor cannot be followed from one day to the next.
Like every website, our server also records technical details of each request (internet address, browser type and the page requested) so that we can keep the site secure and diagnose faults.
Our lawful basis for both is our legitimate interest in running, improving and protecting this website.
This website does not use cookies for statistics or advertising, and it carries no advertising trackers. Our network and security provider may set a strictly necessary cookie to protect the site from automated abuse.
The Book Tickets page is the one exception. The ticket shop on that page is provided by Future Ticketing and uses cookies and browser storage that are strictly necessary for it to work: to keep your basket, hold your place in a queue at busy times and take payment securely. They are only used when you open that page.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf and only on our instructions:
Some of these providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law. We may also disclose information where the law requires us to.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details at the top of this page. There is no charge, and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or 0303 123 1113.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
